NOTICE – ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2026

This notice is available in large print if requested.

The Annual Meeting of the Branch will be an aggregate meeting. This means that decisions will be taken by adding together the votes at more than one meeting. Members are entitled to attend any one of the meetings.
Please note – Both meetings are hybrid (in person and via a Microsoft Teams platform).

Members are entitled to attend one of the meetings in work time, provided establishments and services remain operational for the duration of the meeting.

The agenda will be published in March 2026 – where dates and locations will be confirmed.

Election of BRANCH OFFICERS

To all Ealing UNISON Members, 

Please see attached nomination form for Election of Branch Officers.

Please return all nomination forms by 5pm on Friday 16th January 2026

The AGM will be held on 17^th and 19^th March 2026. See attached AGM Notice.

All branch officers (except the auditors) are responsible to and are members of the Branch Committee, and, while members of the Branch; they hold office until the following Annual General Meeting.

Posts available as per Branch rules:

Branch Chairperson –   Chairs Branch Meetings and Branch Committee meetings, Leadership role within the branch.

Branch Secretary –   Responsible to the Branch Committee for the administration and co-ordination of branch activities.

Treasurer –   Responsible for the financial management of the branch, including preparation of Annual Accounts

Labour Link Officer (APF) –    Organises matters connected with UNISON’S Labour Link organisation. (Only members who contribute to the UNISON Labour Link Fund are eligible to nominate or stand for this post.  The candidate(s) must also be personal member(s) of, or eligible to join, the Labour Party.)

Education Officer – Responsible for co-ordinating Trade Union Education within the Branch.

Equalities Officer– Responsible for co-ordinating equalities issues within the Branch.

Health & Safety Officer – Responsible for co-ordinating health and safety issues within the Branch

International Affairs Officer – Responsible for dealing with international issues within the Branch

Life-Long Learning Co-ordinator – Responsible for co-ordinating life-long learning activities within the Branch
Publicity Officer – Responsible for the Branch’s publicity, both internal and external.

Recruitment Officer – Responsible for co-ordinating the Branch’s membership recruitment activities

Service Conditions Officer – Responsible (with others) for negotiations with employers on corporate issues and for advice to convenors and others on service conditions and casework matters.

Welfare Officer – Responsible for processing applications from members to the Welfare Fund and related maters.

Young Members’ Officer – Responsible for promoting the involvement of young members within UNISON (Under age 27)

Auditors (2) – Responsible for auditing the Branch’s accounts

Branch Committee members’ – represent a consistency of members at branch committee meetings. Must be an elected, trained, and active Steward/Workplace rep.

All Branch Officer Post (but not posts of delegate/s to outside bodies*) may be held on a job-share basis by two or more members.  In such cases nominations should be submitted for each member, together with a note signed by both/all the sharers indicating that it is a job-share nomination. [*Except that one National Delegate Conference seat may be shared where that promotes fair representation]

Delegates to National Delegate Conference, currently scheduled to take place in June 2025 and is the main policy-making body of the union.
Delegates to – National Local Government Service Conference, currently scheduled to take place in June 2025 and has the same function on local government issues.
4 Delegates to – The Regional Council, which meets 3 mornings a year and is the main UNISON body for London.
3 Delegates to -The Regional Local Government Committee, which meets two mornings a year and has the same function on local government service issues.

Notice of Ealing Unison Branch AGM 2024

The Annual Meeting of the Branch will taka place on the dates below and will be an aggregate meeting. This means that decisions will be taken by adding together the votes at more than one meeting. Members are entitled to attend any one of the meetings.

Please note – these meetings with be hybrid, a MS Teams link will be shared with the Agenda sent out in February.
